Mother’s Day Dance with Giordano Dance Company

Join us for an afternoon of celebrating the moms and special people in our lives through dance! Bring your favorite dance partner to FFC and learn the fox-trot and salsa with instruction by Giordano Dance Company’s very own Cesar Salinas and Erina Ueda – don’t be shy, no prior dance experience is required! Motiv8 Mondays:

7-7:45 AM with Haven Eaves

This high-intensity training workout is designed to increase aerobic and anaerobic capacity, enhance power production and develop overall strength. Short 20-second intervals at your max effort are followed by a ten-second rest, which is repeated for eight total rounds. Six exercises per class are completed for an overall total body fat-burning workout.

Take The Tour de Force Challenge At FFC

We’ve got another challenge for you, members! From May 1- May 31, attend 10 classes taught by 10 different instructors to complete the Tour de Force challenge. Your progress will be automatically tracked in the FFC+ app! When you complete the challenge, you’ll receive an FFC bucket hat!

For each class to count, please make sure you register and check in for every class via the FFC+ app!

Helpful hints for checking into class via the FFC+ app:

  • You must be registered for the class in order to check in for it.
  • You can only check into a class within 2 hours of the start time.
  • You must be at the club to check in to the class.
  • You’ll see the class check in on the same screen that appears when you click “Check In” on the homepage to check into the club.
  • You must be connected to cellular or wifi for the check-in to appear.
  • If your font is set too large on your screen, it can push the check-in button out of view!
  • Location services must be on your device AND on for the FFC+ app specifically.
  • Please be sure you have the most recent update for the app. To do so, head to the app store for FFC+ – if you don’t have the most recent version, there will be a button that says “update”.
  • Try turning off the WiFi and just use cellular data.

Intro to Strength Training – Saturdays at 10 AM

Build your confidence on the strength floor with Intro To Strength Training, an entry-level class designed to teach you the essentials needed for a great workout. These complimentary classes are taught by our FFC personal trainers and take place at 10 AM every Saturday in May. Each week will cover a new tool used on the fitness floor. Come ready to learn more and leave feeling empowered to use this equipment on your next visit.

Come for the teasers, stay for the tacos! The Pilates teaser is an incredible exercise (whether performed on the Mat, The Reformer, The Chair, or the Cadillac), that can help you improve balance, flexibility, and spinal mobility while challenging your core via its signature V-shaped position.

Parents Night Out: Happy Mother’s Day

Join us Saturday, May 20 from 5 – 8 PM for a night of fun and games. We take the kids while you enjoy an evening at the theater, a romantic dinner, time with friends, or quiet time with your partner. We will be playing games in the gym and watching a fun movie in the Kids Club.

Incline Walking Tip from Rush Physical Therapy

Friendly reminder that if you are wanting to perform incline walking on a treadmill, you will get the best benefit if you do NOT hold onto the handles and lean back. When you are doing this, you are basically putting your body in the same relative position as if you were walking on a flat surface. To achieve the full benefits of walking at an incline, do not hold onto the handles and lean slightly forward – this allows you to target muscles like your glutes, hamstrings, and calves, allowing you to burn more calories with the exercise.
